Now we are well in to Autumn many of us have forgotten our short summer, but perhaps not the rain which continues to pour.

This summer, despite the scarcity of sunshine, residents, local businesses and Councillors worked hard to get Charlwood Village looking its best for the judging of the Parishes in Bloom competition.

With Councillor Bloom leading the efforts gardens were spruced up and local businesses and Councillors kindly donated plants and other bits and bobs which all helped to give a great impression to the Judge assigned to visit us. So, it's with pleasure we are pleased to announce that Charlwood WON A SILVER AWARD in the competition. Well done and a big thank you to everyone who got involved and a special thanks to the Assistant Clerk, Helen Hill who did an awful lot of watering.

Next year we hope to enter both Charlwood and Hookwood Villages in the Competition. Sadly, the Parish Council was not aware this year that entering as a Parish did not mean that we had automatically entered both Villages in the competition
